Some people think the most important thing about being rich is to have an opportunity to help other people.

To what extent do you agree or disagree？

The gap between rich and poor are increasing day by day. Undoubtedly, rich people have extra potential to help others as they have surplus money. There only a few people are realizing this fact and helping others. In my essay, I will explain the main reasons in support of my views.

Only a few industrialists are philanthropists. They spend their money on luxuries, such as lavish parties and unwanted things. Instead, they should spend the money on educating poor children or supporting old peoples. A smile of gratitude is worth millions of dollars. For instance, when you feed the hungry and receive the whole hearted blessings from them, you will realize the power of helping others. On the contrary, spending a lot of money on organizing a party for the affluent people will not bring you that much satisfaction. The plastic smiles of the guests will reveal it at all.

Man is a social animal. The sufferings of the society are affecting the well being of the society. Rich people can help the community in so many ways. They are often powerful, and are able to make changes. Besides, they have rich friends. Money, influential friends and their connections can make a difference to an entire society not just an individual person. We often hear milliners say that they want to give something back to the community, to their old school, or some times to the poor people. A few millions out of a billionaire’s fortune is really a blessing for others. Rich people have to examine their reasons of spending.

In conclusion, affluent people should donate to charity rather than waste money on expensive trinkets or meaningless entertainment.
