1.Cats never fail to fascinate human beings.
解释：在这句话中含有一个双重否定。fail to do sth. 未能够做某事，never从不，绝不。双重否定表肯定，所以原句子翻译为猫总能引起人们的极大兴趣。
句型提炼：...never fail to...

E.g. Spicy food never fails to make my mouth water.
2.It seems that the further cats fall, the less they are likely to injure themselves.
分析：it seems that似乎，看起来；the + 形容词或副词比较级...the + 形容词或副词比较级，越...越...;be likely to很可能会。
句型提炼：it seems that the + 形容词或副词比较级...the+形容词或副词比较级...

E.g.It seems that the more nervous you are, the more mistakes you will make.
Lesson 12 Life on a deserted island
Most of us have formed an unrealistic picture of life on a desert island. We sometimes imagine a desert island to be a sort of island where the sun always shines.
分析：form an unrealistic picture of...对...有一个不切实际的想法，imagine...to be想像...是...，where the sun always shines是一个由where引导的定语从句。
